Rocket\u2019s crosstown rival, \u041e\u0431\u044a\u0435\u0434\u0438\u043d\u0435\u043d\u043d\u0430\u044f \u043e\u043f\u0442\u043e\u0432\u0430\u044f \u0438\u043f\u043e\u0442\u0435\u043a\u0430<\/a><\/strong> (UWM) began allowing its brokers to access both\u00a0\u0424\u0418\u041a\u041e<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0VantageScore\u00a0credit scoring models for conventional loans at the end of April<\/a>.<\/p>\n

VantageScore 4.0 incorporates additional consumer payment data, including rent, utility and telecommunications payment histories, to assess creditworthiness. <\/p>\n

According to VantageScore, the model could make it possible to generate \u043a\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0438\u0442\u043d\u044b\u0435 \u0431\u0430\u043b\u043b\u044b<\/a> for as many as 33 million additional Americans who may not be scored under traditional models.<\/p>\n

\u201cRocket is giving more people than ever a fair shot at homeownership by leveraging diversified credit scoring,\u201d \u0425\u0438\u0437\u0435\u0440 \u041b\u043e\u0432\u0438\u0435\u0440<\/a>, chief operating officer of Rocket Companies, said in a statement. \u201cOur evolving economy requires a more modern approach to evaluating credit, and VantageScore 4.0 uses an updated methodology designed to create a more inclusive view of creditworthiness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The company did not disclose how broadly the scoring model would be applied across its mortgage products or whether it would change underwriting standards for specific loan programs. Separately, UWM said its program includes a maximum 80% loan-to-value ratio, with borrowers\u2019 VantageScore credit scores reduced by 20 points for eligibility and pricing purposes.<\/p>\n

Rocket\u2019s announcement comes a month after the \u0424\u0435\u0434\u0435\u0440\u0430\u043b\u044c\u043d\u043e\u0435 \u0430\u0433\u0435\u043d\u0442\u0441\u0442\u0432\u043e \u0436\u0438\u043b\u0438\u0449\u043d\u043e\u0433\u043e \u0444\u0438\u043d\u0430\u043d\u0441\u0438\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0438\u044f <\/strong>(\u0424\u0425\u0424\u0410) launched a pilot program<\/a> allowing the use of VantageScore 4.0 for loans sold to \u0424\u0430\u043d\u043d\u0438 \u041c\u044d\u0439<\/strong> \u0438 \u0424\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0434\u0438 \u041c\u0430\u043a<\/strong>, alongside plans to introduce FICO 10T and updated pricing tied to the new credit models.<\/p>\n

FHFA Director Bill Pulte said lenders have already delivered about $10 million in VantageScore-based loans to Freddie Mac as part of an operational test. <\/p>\n
