Achieve<\/strong> has expanded its fixed-rate home equity line of credit (HELOC) program, raising the maximum loan amount to $700,000 and lowering its lowest available annual percentage rate to 5.5% for qualified borrowers, the digital personal finance company said Wednesday.<\/p>\n

The changes, which took effect June 2, also increase borrowing flexibility by allowing qualified homeowners to access up to 90% of their home\u2019s value and raising the maximum debt-to-income ratio to 50%.<\/p>\n

The latest update marks Achieve\u2019s second major enhancement to its HELOC<\/a> product this year. In April, the company increased loan limits to $500,000 and reduced \u043f\u0440\u043e\u0446\u0435\u043d\u0442\u043d\u044b\u0435 \u0441\u0442\u0430\u0432\u043a\u0438<\/a> across several credit tiers.<\/p>\n

Achieve\u2019s fixed-rate HELOC differs from traditional HELOCs by offering fixed interest rates and fully amortizing monthly payments for the life of the loan. The company said the structure is designed to help borrowers avoid payment increases associated with variable rates, interest-only periods and balloon payments.<\/p>\n

The product can be used for \u043a\u043e\u043d\u0441\u043e\u043b\u0438\u0434\u0430\u0446\u0438\u044f \u0434\u043e\u043b\u0433\u0430<\/a>, home \u0440\u0435\u043c\u043e\u043d\u0442<\/a> and other large expenses.<\/p>\n

Along with the higher loan limits, the company highlighted several features of its HELOC offering, including a minimum \u043a\u0440\u0435\u0434\u0438\u0442\u043d\u044b\u0439 \u0440\u0435\u0439\u0442\u0438\u043d\u0433<\/a> requirement of 600, loan closings in as little as seven business days, and terms ranging from 10 to 30 years with no prepayment penalties.<\/p>\n

Borrowers can draw funds for up to five years and may apply online or by phone. Achieve also uses \u0430\u0432\u0442\u043e\u043c\u0430\u0442\u0438\u0437\u0438\u0440\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044b\u0435 \u043c\u043e\u0434\u0435\u043b\u0438 \u043e\u0446\u0435\u043d\u043a\u0438<\/a> in place of traditional in-person \u043e\u0446\u0435\u043d\u043a\u0438<\/a> for many loans, which the company said helps reduce underwriting times and costs.<\/p>\n

The expanded terms are currently available through Achieve\u2019s direct-to-consumer channel and are expected to be offered later this year through Achieve Pro, the company\u2019s planned third-party origination platform.<\/p>\n
