When comfort food is on the menu, few meals are as reliable and soothing as a classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich. The simple, smooth peanut butter (or crunchy, if that’s your, well, jam) paired with the sweetness of jelly on two soft pieces of bread is as familiar as returning to your hometown. Combining that nostalgic goodness with an equally-quintessential candy like M&M’s feels like a brilliant idea that took way too long to happen—but finally, PB&J M&M’s are coming to stores everywhere this year.
M&M’s Peanut Butter and Jelly is the brand’s first new flavor since 2022. Along with chocolate, there’s a berry-flavored filling surrounding peanut butter in the middle of each piece of candy.

On Instagram, @candyhunting posted about the new member of the M&M’s family in September, and the comments filled with approval from enthusiastic fans, along with over 4,500 likes.
“WAIT WHAT???? IS PB&J FINALLY HAPPENING??” exclaimed one consumer. “Finally! I’ve dreamt of this flavor for a really long time. Dreams do come true!” another wrote.
“Peanut butter M&M’S have always been a popular flavor with our fans, so we’re excited to double down on their excitement—with a twist,” said Gabrielle Wesley, chief marketing officer of Mars Wrigley North America. “Our new M&M’S Peanut Butter & Jelly taps into a cross-generational staple, turning a delicious and comforting snack into a bite-sized treat to be enjoyed and shared.”

As you may know, Peanut Butter & Jelly isn’t the first peanut butter-focused M&M flavor. Regular Peanut Butter, Peanut Butter Minis, and Peanut Butter Mega are all part of the standard lineup already, which also includes Plain, Peanut, Caramel, and limited-edition flavors like Pumpkin Pie for the fall or Peppermint for the holiday season.
Speaking of, keep an eye out for this year’s holiday M&M’s: Toasty Holiday Peanut. According to @candyhunting, they feature notes of cinnamon, vanilla, spiced sugar, and caramel and, they’re “meant to evoke the scent of a holiday market.”
Be sure to mark your calendar for December 2024. Starting that month, you’ll be able to get ahold of M&M’s Peanut Butter & Jelly at retailers nationwide and at mms.com in three sizes: Single Size (1.63 ounces), Share Size (2.83 ounces), and Sharing Size Stand-up Pouches (8.6 ounces).
