As Opendoor looks forward on its path to profitability, the iBuyer is looking to leverage agent relationships to expand its business.
A day after discussing this strategic shift during the firm’s second-quarter 2025 earnings call with investors and analysts, Opendoor has announced a partnership with the Jason Mitchell Group (JMG) a powerhouse real estate referral brokerage.
Opendoor will be added to JMG’s network of business-to-business partnerships.
“JMG is proud to partner with Opendoor, where America’s home sellers get the best of all worlds in one convenient program,” said Jason Mitchell, the firm’s founder and CEO. “With Opendoor and JMG working together, sellers can tap into the convenience and certainty of Opendoor or explore expanded home selling solutions with our highest performing local agents.
“As the real estate landscape continues to evolve, so do the needs of our consumers — we are proud to be leading the way with Opendoor, with the best solutions for sellers.”
According to the companies’ announcement, Opendoor is hoping to benefit from the size and scope of the JMG network, which facilitated more than 120,000 referrals and resulted in $5.1 billion in closed sales in 2024.
“Agents already come to us every single day for a cash offer. We’re simply changing the direction of traffic, putting the power of Opendoor into their hands so they can bring our products straight to the seller,” Opendoor CEO Carrie Wheeler said during the firm’s earnings call on Tuesday night.
