“On the heels of last year’s Reese’s Caramel Big Cup launch, we felt the excitement that erupted for the extra layer in our big cup line and wanted to give our fans a delicious experience beyond the every day,” said senior brand manager Melissa Blette in a press release.
This sounds delicious in itself (and trust us, it is), but don’t you want a little more chocolate to balance out the extra peanut butter? Reese’s can do you one better than an oversized chocolate coating: a decadent mashup of a Reese’s Cup and a chocolate lava cake.
The Reese’s Chocolate Lava Big Cup looks like a regular Reese’s Cup from the outside, contains twice the amount of peanut butter on the inside, and adds an extra ooey-gooey layer of chocolate on the very bottom of the cup. This way, you can enjoy liquid chocolate with every bite—not just in the center. And the best part: You don’t have to worry about it selling out. The newest Cup is joining the permanent lineup.

The announcement for the Reese’s Chocolate Lava Big Cup came in typical extravagant fashion on their Instagram, which featured an advertisement with an enormous erupting volcano made from a Reese’s Big Cup.
The latest creation isn’t the first of Reese’s concoctions rolling out throughout the summer. We’ve seen everything from Olympics-inspired medallions to the Caramel Big Cup (the same idea that launched late last year, which inspired the Reese’s Chocolate Lava Big Cup).
