This year, the retailer is embracing the holiday season, too.

Spirit Halloween
Spirit Halloween is taking notes from The Nightmare Before Christmas. After more than 40 years of tricks and treats, the pop-up costume franchise is taking on other holidays, too. This winter, it’s exchanging jack-o’-lanterns for stockings and transforming into Spirit Christmas.
That doesn’t mean you won’t see a Spirit Halloween pop-up in your nearest abandoned building. After all, it wouldn’t be a proper Halloween without an enormous warehouse full of decorations and other seasonal delights.
But starting this winter—once Halloween has come and gone—you’ll see a whole new side of the iconic retailer. Here’s all the information we have so far.

What to Expect from Spirit Christmas
Spirit will be opening 10 new Christmas-themed stores to the public. In these stores, you’ll find a wide range of holiday decorations (both indoor and out) and you’ll even be able to shop for gifts, too. Its website has categories for adult and children’s apparel, stocking stuffers, and something called “Creepmas.”
But Spirit Christmas isn’t just looking to be a holiday shop—it’s aiming to provide memorable experiences. This means you’ll have the opportunity to take photos with a real-life Santa Claus in all 10 stores and write letters to the North Pole. Spirit has even reported you’ll find a life-sized gingerbread village to explore.

Not all of the Spirit Christmas experiences will be the same, though. The brand is mixing things up a bit from store to store, so you might just have to check out more than one location if you want to find everything the season has to offer.
If you live in the Northeast U.S., you lucked out: There will be one Spirit Christmas in Connecticut, one in Massachusetts, four in New Jersey, three in New York, and one in Pennsylvania. These are all of the soon-to-open Spirit Christmas locations announced so far—but we’re keeping our fingers crossed we get to see more in the future.
Spirit Halloween’s flagship location in New Jersey will debut its Christmas shop early this year on October 18.

There aren’t any confirmed opening dates for the other locations just yet, but you can expect Spirit Christmases to begin opening its doors in November. Many will be in the same warehouses that Spirit Halloween has already taken over.
So, will Spirit Christmas start taking over the rest of Spirit Halloweens in future holiday seasons? There’s no guarantee, but we certainly hope to see many more open up across the country next year. Since this is its first foray into the winter holiday department, the store will evaluate sales to determine if the holiday spirit will endure.
