Stewart Title has acquired Townsend Title Insurance Agency, adding a southwest Florida operation with offices in Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Lehigh Acres.
Townsend Title Insurance Agency has operated in the region since 2008 — providing title insurance services to residential real estate customers.
The acquisition expands Stewart’s footprint in southwest Florida while retaining Townsend’s existing branch locations and staff, according to the announcement.
“For years, Tracy and her team at Townsend have built a reputation as experts in title insurance, and have succeeded by putting their customer needs first,” said Stewart Division President Robyn Dinsdale. “This acquisition is a win for our customers in southwest Florida as the same trusted team and exceptional service they know remains — now backed by the financial strength of a 132-year-old company, utilizing our expertise and technology to deliver faster, more efficient closings. We will be stronger together.”
Townsend President Tracy Townsend said the transaction provides additional operational and technology resources for customers while maintaining current service standards.

Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
