Hold on to your stand mixers, baking fans. The Great British Baking Show is back on Netflix for another sweet season, premiering in the U.S. on September 27. Welford Park once again provides the gorgeous backdrop for the white tent, where the infamous Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith will do the judging. Noel Fielding and Alison Hammond are also back to host (and provide emotional support and lighthearted teasing).
The beloved series’s Instagram post, which proclaims they are “chuffed to bits” to be returning, racked up over 103,000 likes in just three days, proving fans are hungry for more delicious, fantastical baked goods and heartwarming moments.
“My fall wouldn’t have been complete without this news!” one commenter wrote. “Guess I’ma have to cancel my wedding that day so I can watch,” joked another.

According to reporting from RadioTimes.com, the first episode of Collection 12 (the 17th for British residents) consists of challenges to “elevate a loaf cake to new heights before confusing the judges by creating a hyper-realistic illusion cake.”
Will anyone’s showstopper impress enough to get a Hollywood Handshake? Probably not. But you’ll have to watch to find out—the only predictable thing about what happens in the tent is that it’s unpredictable.

The Great British Baking Show 2024 Contestants
The newest batch promises to be an eclectic bunch that brings plenty of fun banter and creative cake-making to the series. - Sumayah, 19, is a dental student from Lancashire and this season’s youngest competitor
- Illiyan, 31, is a birth-trauma specialist midwife from London
- Jeff, 67, was born in the Bronx but has lived in the U.K. since 1979
- Mike, 29, is a fourth-generation farm manager from Wiltshire
- Nelly, 44 is palliative care assistant originally from Slovakia

On the show’s Instagram post announcing the season premiere in the UK, 2018 winner Dr. Rahul Mandel wrote in the comments: “Today is like the night before Christmas, all excited and hyped for the big day tomorrow. Sending lots of love to my new bake off family, love you all xxx.”
