Sherwin-Williams
Every color tells a story, and Sherwin-Williams has a long history of helping to tell that tale—all while making it a lot easier to mix and match trending colors without sacrificing your unique style. To that end, Sherwin-Williams has just dropped its 2025 Colormix Forecast, which predicts broad color trends for the year ahead.
Not to be confused with a color of the year pick, this annual Colormix Forecast from Sherwin-Williams points to the elements that shape color trends, making use of the brand’s Trendsight Team to make data-driven predictions for what hues we’ll be seeing more of in the next year. Last year’s Colormix Forecast, Anthology: Volume One, focused on color families; for the 2025 Colormix Forecast, the Sherwin-Williams team has organized colors into four capsules: Chrysalis, Paradox, Wellspring, and Kindred.
Key Color Trends for 2025, According to Sherwin-Williams
The four groupings that make up the Sherwin-Williams 2025 Colormix Forecast: Capsules each include 12 colors, for 48 curated colors total. While each capsule has its own look and feel, all together, these colors convey a bright energy with plenty of nuance. While some capsules and colors lean loud and playful, others are more subtle and quiet—but never subdued or dull. A certain boldness is present in all four capsules, which points to a positive, confident approach to color overall in 2025, something all color fans are sure to look forward to. Read on for a full breakdown of the Forecast.

Chrysalis
The first capsule, Chrysalis, was created to “capture the essence of peaceful, intentional living and transformative future thinking in a sanctuary of colors inspired by wood tones, sifting sands, and freshly turned earth,” according to Sherwin-Williams. Its 12 colors include Mexican Sand, Sealskin, Pure White, Studio Clay, Grounded, Studio Mauve, Carnelian, Shiitake, Thunderous, Mindful Gray, Drift of Mist, and Tanbark.

Paradox
The second capsule, Paradox, is intended to “conquer the conventional with a palette of dopamine drenched colors that defy expectations: electric brights, grounding neutrals, and candy-coated accents,” the company writes. The colors in the Paradox capsule include Egret White, Dragon Fruit, Talipot Palm, Inkwell, Slow Green, Alabaster, Antiquarian Brown, Frank Blue, Rejuvenate, Quilt Gold, Cascades, and Euphoric Lilac.

Wellspring
The third capsule, Wellspring, is full of “mystical blues, meditative midtones, and compelling chromas that connect us to the land, to creating things by hand, and to a richly personal epic narrative.” The capsule includes Warm Stone, Persimmon, Borscht, Bosc Pear, French Roast, Oyster White, Tres Naturale, Upward, Outerspace, Chartreuse, Green Bray, and Gallery Green.

Kindred
The final capsule of the Sherwin-Williams 2025 Colormix Forecast, Kindred, is designed to encourage us all to “embrace a mindset of openness and belonging with a collection of warm neutrals, sheltering deeps, and warmhearted colors that nurture and nourish,” per the brand. Colormixology
Along with the 2025 Colormix Forecast: Capsules launch, the paint company also announced a brand new podcast called Colormixology, hosted by Sherwin-Williams director of color marketing Sue Wadden and available wherever you listen to your podcasts. The series will explore color trends, home and design technology, and, of course, the Colormix Forecast. The guests on the first episode will be Sherwin-Williams color marketing manager Emily Kantz and KLH Custom Homes owner and creative director Liz Hoekzema.
“With the 2025 Colormix Forecast, we want to invite everyone to immerse themselves in the storytelling world of Capsules: an exploration of the magic contained within the colors, materials, and finishes that will inspire innovation, create connections, and illuminate the future of residential and commercial design,” Wadden said in a press release. “The strength of our color forecasting allows us to anticipate the trends of tomorrow and shape a more vibrant, harmonious, and responsive world—a topic I’m excited to discuss in the first episode of our new podcast: Colormixology.”
