There’s no shortage of iced coffee drinks you can choose from to give you a much needed caffeine boost during these hot days. Maybe you make a homemade cold brew for your first-thing-in-the-morning java jolt, or grab a drink to go from your favorite local coffee shop. But this summer, sweet coffee lovers have taken to TikTok to share how they’re blending lattes and chocolate for an easy drink that’s crackling good.

TikTok creator @espressoyourselfx3 posted their crackling coffee creation (the crackling effect comes from squeezing the cup) in an eight-second video, which now has over 30 million views and 1 million likes (and counting). Responses in the comments were mixed.
“I would pay a lot of money for this,” one person wrote, while others posed questions, mostly about how to enjoy the chocolate since it won’t melt completely in a cold drink. “Wait…am I to slurp that Dorito-sized chocolate chip through the straw?” another asked.
“It doesn’t go through the straw, but it does lend flavor to the drink over time,” @espressoyourselfx3 explained. “You also get a nice little treat after you drink it.” Not unlike boba, which needs a special straw to be eaten, you can scoop out the chocolate bits with a spoon after you finish the coffee.
To make the crackling latte, you need a plastic to-go cup, chocolate chips, coconut oil, and your favorite cold coffee drink with ice.
