Cozy Spaces
One trend Pinterest has dubbed “Cozy Corners” will bring a little hygge into your home for the fall. As the days get darker, it’s all about lighting: searches for sunrooms, cozy lighting, and even flower-shaped candle bouquets are all up significantly this year. We’re not talking overhead lights here, either—break out your floor lamps, table lights, and candle arrangements if you want to create your very own Pinterest-worthy cozy space.
If you’re already longing for spring motifs, you’re in luck: The cozy corners theme also includes plenty of indoor plants. Searches for air purifying plants were up 850% —which will definitely keep your space fresh when you close your windows for the winter—while Pinterest users were also consistently searching for the perfect floral aesthetic. Botanical-themed rooms aren’t on the out yet, and we’re certainly excited to see a resurgence this fall.

Calming Hues
Wondering what color palettes are the most popular on Pinterest? It’s all about calm and relaxing shades this year. Sage green is still having its moment in 2024, and it’s bringing plenty of other green shades along with it. Deeper shades of green are popular in the bathroom and even in the home office, helping to bring a little luxury and calm to your home.
Along with the coastal granddaughter aesthetic that’s still making waves comes the hunt for the perfect shade of blue. Seafoam is up 200% this year, while blue is also the favorite color for bedrooms on Pinterest right now.

Plenty of Pinterest users are also finding themselves in a lavender haze right now, with lavender shades and dark purples trending, especially for bedrooms. The moody bathroom trend has made its shift to moody bedrooms, and purple is a key color when it comes to redecorating. Expect to see more regal rooms in 2024.

Soothing Homes
Japanese interior design is also a major influence on Pinterest this year. Searches for Japanese vintage art have risen 270% this year, and searches for Japanese futons are close behind. But the remodels for this category aren’t stopping at the bedroom.

Pinterest users are also looking to make their home more relaxing, as indicated by the searches for zen bathrooms, kitchens, gardens, and living rooms. With so many current trends focused around spa-like bathrooms, minimalist yet luxurious home designs, and understanding your home’s layout, it’s no surprise that Pinterest users are turning to Japanese interior (and exterior) design to inspire their next redecorating. It’s warm and cozy without being overwhelming—perfect for those who are already fans of minimalism or neutral palettes.
