Skittles is giving you a new, exciting way to taste the rainbow this fall, just in time for Halloween.
Freeze-dried Skittles have been a trend in the candy world even before the announcement of the official version—you can find many Etsy shops selling them by the jar. However, it’s not exactly easy to do make them yourself, and that’s where Skittles Pop’d comes in.

New Skittles POP’d Packs a Crunch
Freeze-drying candy makes it taste sweeter and more flavorful and changes the texture. Skittles in particular become satisfyingly crunchy through this process.
Now, Skittles is making this delicious variation available to everyone—no freeze drier needed. The new candy is accurately named Skittles POP’d because of how the shells burst open during the drying process, creating a spherical, tri-layered candy.
If you’re always craving that crunch, you’ll be thrilled to know that purchasing freeze dried Skittles directly from the brand itself is bound to be much safer (and more regulated) than finding it through independent sellers online. It’ll also be much cheaper and easier to access.
Skittles POP’d comes in two different flavor packs: Original (featuring classic Skittles flavors including strawberry, lemon, lime, orange, and grape) and Sour (in new flavors sour lemonade, sour blue raspberry, sour strawberry, sour watermelon, and sour cherry).
To say fans approve is an understatement. “I love skittles so much more now,” one said under an Instagram post announcing the new candy. They do want to know about the potential for more flavors though: “Okay, now what about wild berry,” another wrote.

Both versions of Skittles POP’d will be available in 5.5-ounce bags.
Skittles will be releasing the candy only through their TikTok Shop beginning on October 23—so if you want to set them out at your next Halloween party, you’ll have to buy them there. It’s also passing out a sweet deal to buyers on TikTok while supplies last: You can get two packs (one of each variety) for the price of one.
If you want to try Skittles POP’d elsewhere, you’ll have to wait until later this fall to find them in select stores. Next year, however, they’ll finally be made available nationwide.
