New American Funding (NAF) on Wednesday named Nathan Ballentine as its new regional vice president for South Carolina. In this role, Ballentine will lead growth and development across the state, spearheading market expansion and sales initiatives.
With more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage industry, Ballentine will focus on recruiting and onboarding top-performing loan officers, along with supporting their long-term success through coaching, mentorship and professional development.
Ballentine is also tasked with building partnerships with real estate agents and other industry professionals, and he’ll be promoting NAF’s technology and platform that’s designed to streamline the mortgage process and boost collaboration.

“Nathan brings a wealth of experience and a passion for excellence that will undoubtedly drive our regional growth and success,” said Andy Pettola, an executive vice president and East retail sales leader. “His leadership skills, combined with his deep understanding of the mortgage industry, make him the perfect fit to lead our team to new heights.”
Ballentine began his career as a loan originator before moving into leadership roles at Wachovia/Wells Fargo and Movement Mortgage.
Outside of the office, Ballentine is serving his 11th term in the South Carolina House of Representatives and sits on the University of South Carolina’s Darla Moore School of Business Dean’s Advisory Council. He has also held multiple community leadership positions, including homeowners association presidencies, and has been recognized by state and local chambers of commerce and Realtor associations.
“My career has always been about putting people first,” Ballentine said in a statement. “I could not pass up the extraordinary opportunity to work with the leaders and loan officers at a Top 10 national lender who always put people first and want to pour into our state.”
