The Standard’s first-ever residential project officially debuts in Midtown Miami

The Standard has built its reputation on creating places people don’t simply stay in — they talk about them afterward.

From Miami Beach and New York to London and Los Angeles, the hospitality brand has become synonymous with a certain kind of lifestyle: social, design-driven, slightly irreverent, and always plugged into the neighborhood around it.

Now, for the first time in its history, The Standard has planted its flag in the residential world.

The Standard Residences, Midtown Miami has officially been completed, marking the debut of the brand’s first-ever standalone residential project anywhere in the world.

The 12-story building also arrives with another distinction: it’s the first new residential development completed in Midtown Miami in nearly a decade.

Developed by Rosso Development in partnership with Hyatt and Midtown Development, the project brings 228 residences to one of Miami’s most walkable districts, positioned between Wynwood, the Design District, and the urban energy that has transformed Midtown into one of the city’s most sought-after neighborhoods.

For Carlos Rosso, founder of Rosso Development, the goal was never simply to add another condominium building to the skyline.

“We wanted to create a building that doesn’t just exist in the neighborhood but participates in it,” said Rosso. “We are incredibly proud to deliver a lifestyle where design, culture, and community meet. The Standard is a true gathering place authentic to the neighborhood, designed to bring people together and contribute to the creative energy that makes this part of Miami so special.”

That philosophy becomes apparent almost immediately.

Designed by Arquitectonica, with interiors by Urban Robot in collaboration with The Standard’s in-house design team, the building feels intentionally social from the ground up.

Rather than focusing exclusively on private amenities, much of the experience revolves around creating opportunities for residents to connect, work, relax, and spend time together.

The amenity package alone spans more than 34,000 square feet.

At the top of the building, a rooftop deck channels the atmosphere that helped make The Standard famous.

A 60-foot resort-style pool serves as the centerpiece, surrounded by lush landscaping from Naturalficial and anchored by Solana, a rooftop restaurant and bar operated by the acclaimed Juvia Group.

Elsewhere throughout the property, residents will find a fitness center, yoga and stretch studios, an infrared sauna, co-working lounges, screening room, and one of the more unexpected amenities in Miami residential real estate: a pickleball court that doubles as a disco room.

Because this is still The Standard, after all.

The social energy extends beyond recreation.

The lobby and common areas have been conceived as an evolving art gallery featuring works from Argentine artists Gaspar Libedinsky and Patricio Escobedo, alongside Miami-based artists Jen Clay and Lisu Vega.

Food and nightlife are also woven directly into the experience.

Residents have immediate access to destinations including Sushi Garage, Mannarino, Rosetta Bakery Café, and the intimate Privato Speakeasy, reinforcing the idea that the building functions less like a traditional condominium and more like a self-contained lifestyle hub.

“The Standard has the unique ability to make a neighborhood come to life, from the Meatpacking District to King’s Cross and we see the same dynamic at play in Midtown Miami,” said Amar Lalvani, President and Creative Director, The Lifestyle Group, Hyatt.

“Midtown has great attributes, but it was missing an anchor. It’s walkable, it’s connected and it sits right between some of Miami’s most interesting districts. At The Standard Residences, our owners get to fully inhabit The Standard brand while joining a community that will help shape the future of Midtown.”

That next chapter may be arriving sooner than many realize.

The completion of The Standard Residences comes alongside broader changes taking shape across Midtown Miami, including the recently announced Midtown Park project, a planned $2 billion mixed-use development that will add luxury residences, retail, dining, office space, public green spaces, and an ULTRA padel club across five acres.

Together, the projects signal a neighborhood continuing to evolve from an emerging district into one of Miami’s most complete live-work-play environments.

And buyers have responded accordingly.

The Standard Residences is already nearly sold out, with only a limited number of residences remaining available through Douglas Elliman Development Marketing.

For a brand that spent decades perfecting the art of hospitality, the transition into residential living appears to be off to a strong start.

“Hyatt’s nearly seven decades of distinction in global hospitality and signature sense of care is imbued in our expanding collection of branded residences. Today, our global portfolio of branded residences is designed for greater ease, more meaningful connection, and a stronger sense of belonging,” said Tina Necrason, Global Head of Branded Residential, Hyatt.

“The opening of The Standard Residences, Midtown Miami is significant for being the brand’s first standalone residences – a clear indicator of the strength of Hyatt’s brands, delivered in ways that feel personal rather than programmed.”
